Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, I want to remind you of the faith of my son Abraham. I called him to be the father of nations. But I first had to bring him to the end of his natural ability to make that happen, so he would realize it was I alone who would fulfill the promise. His job was to believe; mine was to get it done. That is the formula for a faith life. Like Abraham, you must die to your own ability to carry out my plans. Otherwise, you will be tempted to think your own cleverness and power brought things about. Trust me to accomplish what I have promised. Wait for my timing. Watch for my intervention. Expect miracles!

And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. Romans 4:19-21
