Son, I want you to stop entertaining those voices that tell you I don’t speak to you. I speak to you many times during your day. What you think are just your thoughts are, in fact, my words and my Spirit speaking to you. My sheep hear my voice (Jn 10:27), and you know that well. No, you don’t hear me in the same way others may have described hearing me because I speak to every son and daughter differently. Don’t get hung up on the ways I do or do not speak to you. Simply believe the truth about our relationship. The enemy of your soul seeks to make every son and daughter question my presence in their lives. Yes, it is true that you sometimes hear me on behalf of others more easily than for yourself. This is just my way of keeping you others-centered. It is also true that my activity in a new believer is often more evident. That is because I must build faith in my new babes so I reveal my presence in their lives. As you mature and I develop your faith, you may not see my activity quite as much, but I am always there. So, it is settled. Put aside questions as to whether I am actively speaking to you. Son, look at the evidence! You are transcribing what I am saying to you right this moment! You’re not just thinking this stuff up on your own, you know. The enemy always seeks to deceive you about our relationship. Refuse to believe him.
