Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, when the adversary wants to deceive, he often counterfeits your own voice. He can speak your language so well that you will be certain you are hearing your own counsel. You will find yourself meditating on an issue and before you know it you become depressed and hopeless and may even blame me for the circumstance. Son, it is so important to filter what comes into your thoughts. Do this faithfully, not on your own, but through my Holy Spirit that resides in you. He is there to help you discern whose voice is speaking. Let me remind you that knowing my word will strengthen your judgment: “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Heb 4:12). Meditate day and night upon my word and your spirit will be sensitized to any foreign spirit that is not of me. Use my word to build your defenses against the deceiver. Lean persistently on me for discernment.

You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. John 8:44
