Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, many of my sons and daughters have a shipwrecked faith. They view me as a Father who could do something about their situations but chooses not to. They simply believe I do nothing on their behalf. If I exist at all they think I only do the big things. That is what Naomi thought about me when she moved to a foreign land to escape famine, but then lost her husband and sons there. She returned to her homeland with shattered dreams and shattered faith. It was later that she discovered I had not forgotten her at all. From the beginning, I was orchestrating a detailed plan for her and her daughter-in-law, Ruth. I had Naomi’s relative Boaz waiting in the wings. He became the kinsman redeemer who married Ruth and provided for both of the women. Boaz and Ruth had a little boy and named him Obed. “And Obed was the father of Jesse, the father of David” (Ruth 4:17). Yes, this son would carry the seed of kings –including the king of the universe, my Son. It was at that moment when Naomi saw my hand connecting their lives to Boaz that her faith was reborn. Son, never underestimate my ability to redeem the darkest situations.

Then Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “Blessed be he of the Lord, who has not forsaken His kindness to the living and the dead!” And Naomi said to her, “This man is a relation of ours, one of our close relatives.” Ruth 2:20
