Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, there will come times ofshaking. As a good Father, I must bring correction when my kids begin to place other things before me. My discipline proves you are a son (Heb 12:8) and that I love you. I will shake all that is not founded upon me, so that you will have the peaceable fruit of righteousness in your life (Heb 12:11). You will participate in my holiness as you allow me to mentor you as my son, because without holiness you cannot see me for who I am (Heb 12:14). This time of correction and exhortation will help you remain free from the bondages of sin. Sin will cause you to doubt my strength in your life. You will lose confidence in me and gradually there will be a gulf between us, eroding your spiritual foundation. Neither of us wants that, son. So, turn your heart to me. Embrace these times for they will yield good things in your life.

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
“My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the LORD loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives.” Hebrews 12:5, 6

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” The words “yet once more” indicate the removal of those things that are being shaken, that is, created things, so that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Hebrews 12:25-27
