Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, there is always a time limit to obedience. Long ago I sent 12 spies into the land of Israel to enter the Promised Land that I was preparing for them. However, 10 of those spies shrunk back from fear. I was angry with those sons and brought a judgment of death upon them for their disobedience. I also declared that their entire unbelieving generation would not see the Promised Land, but would die in the wilderness. There were some who presumed they could make up for their sin by going forward into the land regardless of my judgment; they were soundly defeated by their enemies. Son, obedience is required at the time I give you an instruction. My sons could not correct their disobedience by supposing I would change my mind. Saul, the first king of Israel learned this as well. He disobeyed me and lost his kingdom (1 Sam 15:22). Son, be sensitive to my leading and my instruction. Obey the moment I tell you something. Do not attempt to change my instruction based on your reasoning. Ask forgiveness immediately and I will forgive your transgressions (1 Jn 1:9). Jesus paid the price for your sin.

And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Here we are, and we will go up to the place which the Lord has promised, for we have sinned!” And Moses said, “Now why do you transgress the command of the Lord? For this will not succeed. Do not go up, lest you be defeated by your enemies, for the Lord is not among you. For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you shall fall by the sword; because you have turned away from the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.” But they presumed to go up to the mountaintop. Nevertheless, neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed from the camp. Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites who dwelt in that mountain came down and attacked them, and drove them back as far as Hormah. Numbers 14:39-45
