Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, you and I are partners in bringing about my will on earth. What you do, or do not do, matters. If you fail to stand in the gap, there ARE consequences. Do you remember when I told my son Moses to go up in battle against the Amalekites? His key to victory was whether or not he held his staff up in the air. This was a sign that my favor was dependent on what Moses did. When his tired arms dropped, lives were lost in battle. Joshua and his men had to stand by and literally hold up their leader’s hands. Can you see the principle of leadership revealed here? You must be supported in prayer and you must support others as well. You are all dependent on one another. This is a picture of intercession. Keep interceding, my son. You will gain victory after victory as you do this.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. I Tim 2:1-4

And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. Exodus 17:12-13
