Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, your heart is the most precious part of your life. It is the control center of all you are. It determines whether things go well with you. It determines all your responses. In many ways, it is like a garden that must be maintained. You know how easy it is for weeds to spring up and choke the life out of your flowers in your garden. My son Solomon expressed it well when he said, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life” (Prov 4:23). Your heart was damaged years ago. I know you have sensed me healing different parts of it over the years. When a heart has been damaged, it can be more easily deceived. When we are wounded, a protective mechanism kicks in; there is a good and bad aspect to this. The protective wall may keep you safe through a time of danger, but when the crisis passes, that wall often remains intact. Such independence breeds control that is motivated by fear. Son, this can lead to deception. Avoid this by keeping your heart teachable. I love you son. I am the healer of broken hearts.

For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears ,lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.”’ Acts 28:27

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah 17:9-10
