Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, serving me involves two important things. Primarily, you and I must know each other as intimate friends. And second, your service must be for the purpose of building my kingdom on earth. When my Son lived on earth he had three good friends: Lazarus, Martha and Mary. Now history seems to be giving Martha a bad rap for wanting to serve me instead of sit at my feet like Mary. The truth is that both are equally important. There are times when I just want us to sit together. There are other times when we must be about my business. The two are literally inseparable. Take heart my son and learn to discern which aspect of life you are to be about. We always need intimate times together and we need times to work.

Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42
