Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, I want to play an imaginary game with you. Pretend with me that you are standing in a room. There are two people in front of you. One of them is Jesus, the other is a person named Circumstance. Now I want you to keep your eyes focused on both of them. Never take your eyes off of either of them. Concentrate, now, as you watch Jesus and Circumstance begin to walk in opposite directions. What’s that? You’re finding it difficult to keep your eyes on both? Is it not working for you? Well the fact is, my son, you can only choose one. Such is life. You cannot follow both. To be an overcomer you must keep your eyes on my Son. Otherwise, you will begin to sink under the weight of your circumstances. To be victorious in this world, look to me.

So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”  Matthew 14:29-31
