Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, one of my required “graduate level courses” in leadership for my sons and daughters is a willingness to wash the feet of their Judases. Being wronged and rejected and taken advantage of by someone close to you is very difficult. It requires that you walk in a new level of my grace. Doing so will free you from bitterness and unforgiveness. However, remember this, son – you cannot compel someone else to forgive or accept my grace. There will always be those who choose not to. This saddens me, but it is something I, too, must accept. Walk in my grace and know that my love for you can heal the wounds that result from those who reject you. Leave them in my hands. Cut them loose, free them and go in peace. You can open the prison door even if they don’t choose to walk out to freedom.

But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask for them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. Luke 6:27-31

For it is not an enemy who reproaches me; Then I could bear it. Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me; Then I could hide from him. But it was you, a man my equal, my companion and my acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, and walked to the house of God in the throng. Psalm 55:12-14
