Son, I will help you succeed in the things you are called to do if you ask me to help you. That was the kind of relationship I had with my son David. He was persecuted, but I protected him. He won many battles because he looked to me as his commanding officer. He asked me when to attack and when to wait. You are to do the same. Let me help you with your projects. Let me show you what you need to know to be successful. I will show you if you ask me. My sheep do hear my voice. Call unto me and I will answer. Let’s be successful together.

Then they told David, saying, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are robbing the threshing floors.” Therefore David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?” And the Lord said to David, “Go and attack the Philistines, and save Keilah.” But David’s men said to him, “Look, we are afraid here in Judah. How much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?” Then David inquired of the Lord once again. And the Lord answered him and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah. For I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.” 1 Samuel 23:1-4
