Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, sometimes you fail to recognize my guiding hand upon your life. Because I have not answered you the way and in the time frame you desire, you conclude that I am not active in your situation. But you need only look at the evidence to prove this is not true. For one thing, you are very sensitive to my Spirit within you and you quickly respond to my nudging. Like a well trained horse, it only takes a slight pull upon the reigns to get your attention. You wouldn’t think of doing some things that others don’t think twice about. That in itself is confirmation of our relationship and my involvement in your life. Your hunger for my word is from me. Your desire to obey is from me. I am the one who draws you to myself. It is not your idea. So, be at peace, son. My spirit lives in billions of people across the earth all at the same time. Think of it this way; you all got my operating system when you invited my Son into your life. My sheep do hear my voice. It is a gentle whisper as a rule. Rarely do I shout. Only in dire situations do I shout. My precious son C.S. Lewis described my nature pretty well when he said: “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” Talk to me, son. I’m listening. I’m fully aware and present in your circumstances.

Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:11-12
