Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, sometimes you think I am asleep at the helm, just like the disciples concluded when their boat was caught in a fierce storm at sea. Because my Son was peacefully sleeping, they questioned his concern for their safety. You think in this same way when you do not see my hand in your life during a deep trial. Remember the old parable about feeling alone because of seeing only one set of footprints in the sand? Remember, those prints are not yours, they are mine. I have actually been carrying you through these storms on my shoulders. I gave my sons and daughters the ability to feel deep emotions, but those feelings can often give faulty readings of what is really going on. Such was the case for Gideon. He also assumed I had abandoned him and his nation. It is in these times I want you to trust in what you know to be true, not what you are feeling. Feelings can be deceptive. Faith is the evidence of things not yet seen.
Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” Judges 6:13
Hold fast to your faith in me. Trust me to turn all of the difficult events in your life into gold. But He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. Job 23:10-11
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
