Listening to the Father’s Heart
Son, I have been showing you something about my nature few ever come to realize. I am a God of covenant. When I make a covenant, I never break it. I made a covenant with Abraham that was totally dependent on me, not on Abraham. Many of my sons and daughters live based on contract. Contract says you will uphold your side of the agreement only if the other party will uphold their side. Covenant is being faithful even when the other party is unfaithful. My son is faithful to his bride even in the midst of his bride’s unfaithfulness. Marriage is to represent covenant on the earth. Sadly, this is not happening among my sons and daughters. This is why my families are in such crisis. Son, I have called you and your friends to stand in this gap (Ezek. 22:30).And to be a repairer of the breach. I am proud of your commitment to live based on covenant, not contract. This reveals the depth of love I have for you and all my sons and daughters.
O Lord, the great and awesome God who keeps His covenant of love with all who love him and obey His commands. Dan 9:4
