Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, sometimes faith requires you to act to demonstrate your belief in the future promises. Such was the case when I instructed my son Jeremiah to purchase land while the Babylonian invasion and captivity was taking place. I asked him to do this as a prophetic sign of my covenant promise to the nation that they would return to me someday. This made no sense to his followers. It seemed utterly foolish. So too, my son, I have told you to do certain obedience acts as a statement of your faith in me. Others will not understand your actions, but that does not matter. Only your obedience to me matters. Someday you, too, will see the manifestation of that which is not become what it is (Rom 4:17). Faith is the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1). Faith and accompanying actions demonstrate to principalities and powers that your faith refuses to be dictated by your circumstances. Let your actions attest to your faith in me to act on your behalf.

And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will assuredly plant them in this land, with all My heart and with all My soul.’ “For thus says the LORD: ‘Just as I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will bring on them all the good that I have promised them. And fields will be bought in this land of which you say, “It is desolate, without man or beast; it has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans.” Jeremiah 32: 40-43

And You have said to me, O Lord God, “Buy the field for money, and take witnesses”!—yet the city has been given into the hand of the Chaldeans. Jeremiah 32:25
