Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, I know that you struggle with my delays. You have been standing on my promises but have not seen them fulfilled. Moses also experienced this after I instructed him to go to Pharaoh and tell him to release the people of Israel. I assured him that I would give him the power to free the Israelites by the miracles I would do through him. Yet at the same time, I told him they would not be released because I was going to harden Pharaoh’s heart. I know this feels like a contradiction to you. Son, in the case of Moses and Israel, I wanted to demonstrate my power in such a way that all future generations would hear the story of their deliverance. I wanted greater glory from the situation. I also wanted to deal with Egypt by sending specific plagues. And finally, the very process built character into my son Moses and tested him to see if he would stay the course. Son, if you are frustrated that your vision has not manifested, know that times of preparation and simmering are of great benefit. Seldom do I call someone to stand and then immediately accomplish their vision. There is training. There is testing. There is relationship building between you and me that must take place. Once this is complete, you will see the vision materialize if it is my will.

The Lord said to Moses, “When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.” Exodus 4:21

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them,[c] embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Hebrews 11:13
