Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, adversity is my currency for maturing a son or daughter to know me intimately and move my heart. The very thing you ask me to change is the thing that is making you the son that blesses me and others. Without these crises, you would fall into complacency and self-satisfaction. You would not seek me with a passionate heart. Fervent hunger for me often only comes through the fires of testing. It is the nature of my sons and daughters to desire a life without trials. However, you know not what you are asking. If you knew what awaits you on the other side and the inheritance you are gaining through these trials, you would ask me to send more! Remember my son, I only allow what you can handle to keep you growing in our relationship.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:6-9

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
