Listening To The Father’s Heart

Listening To The Father’s Heart

Son, there is an idol many are tempted to embrace. It is the “Feel Good” idol. Somewhere along life’s journey, my sons and daughters got the idea that if they did all the right Christian things life would work in an orderly and fulfilling way. It is true that a relationship with my Son gives life, and life abundantly. But you must understand that life in my kingdom is not a life without challenges. There will be crisis and even conflict, because my ways contradict what the world values most. My son Paul was correct when he said “for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Rom 14:17). Your joy and fulfillment in this life can only be found in one place – me, my Son and my Holy Spirit! If the goal of life were simply to feel good, I would not have created you with the ability to feel sorrow and pain. Pain has a very important role in your relationship with me. Be careful not to seek me only to deliver you from things that don’t feel good. Ask me to reveal myself to you in these places. You’ll get new eyes, a new way of seeing. And you’ll find the joy of overcoming what you encounter along your way.

For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. John 6:33

He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it. Matthew 10:39
