Son, beware of negative faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). You can cause negative things to happen when you fear them, because fear is a form of faith. Son, do not allow your mind and heart to worry and fret over things that may never come. Fear is the seed of negative faith. If you fear something, you are setting in place the faith for it to come about. Remember when you played golf and wanted to avoid hitting your ball in the water? When you tried to avoid the water you actually hit it right into the water because your mind was focused on what you didn’t want to happen instead of on your goal. Put your faith in what you desire to happen, not in what you want to avoid. My son Job exercised negative faith which led to great calamity in his life. Don’t focus on what you fear, son. Stay focused on me.
For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dreaded has happened to me. Job 3:25
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. Ps 37:8
As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations” in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; Rom 4:17
