Childlike Faith

Childlike Faith

“And whoever welcomes a little child like this in My name welcomes Me. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” -Matthew 18:5

Have you ever shared your testimony with someone and they said something like, “Oh, that’s stupid. Why on earth would you believe that was God? That’s just mere coincidence. It’s so obvious. Why are you so gullible?”

“But I know it was true!” you say.

But still, the sting of their words sticks with us.

There was a time when I was dating a boy who was a Christian, but he didn’t believe my testimony was true that God used the symbol of a rainbow to bring me back to Him. But  when it happened, it saved my life.

We live in an unbelieving world, a world without hope. We are called to bring the light and hope. Scripture clearly warns about those who try to distort and steal the faith of those who are full of faith – that it would be better for them to be drowned in the sea. That is how jealous God is of his children who understand and know Him; those who have a childlike faith.

Don’t let the world steal your faith from you. You are deserving of the things God has intended for you. And the experiences you’ve had with God have not been figments of your imagination. Keep them close to you. And let God be made proud with your “childlike faith.”
